Nature
& The Male Form

June 14 extended to August 1, 2010
Reception: Saturday, June 26, 1:00pm to 6:00pm

Alias Michael Michielle, now known as Michael Mut (his birth name), went through a period of hiding from his past, his family, friends and the small town he grew up in. Mut's evasiveness is evident in his black and white nudes.

During the period from 1980 to 1996 Michael traveled the world looking for himself. Along the way he had many love interests who subsequently became his models and the inspiration for Black and White Nudes.

There are several themes and concepts that are of interest to anyone who appreciates photography. The removal of the subjects' heads or the use of the body as part of the environment, for example. Mut clearly relishes the male body and all its curves and structural tonality. It's in his blood.

Now more than 2 decades after Mut began photographing these images, he reintroduces his Black and White Nudes in a different light. Nature, environment, the human form, all transform into a world of calmness, and beauty, which is particularly attractive in today's busy and rapidly changing reality.

Mut as shown his photographies at Brian Clampart Art, Chelsea NY, NY; Denise Bibro Fine Art Gallery, NY, NY; Provincetown Art Association and Museum, Provincetown, MA; David Aden Gallery, CA; Soho Photo Gallery, NY, NY; Wessel & O'Connor Gallery, NY, NY. Mut has also had works published in Male Bonding Volume 2, Fotofactory Press.
